JoyJolt Coffee Mug Recall on Amazon
Around 580,000 16-ounce Declan single-wall glass mugs, sold in six-packs online, have been recalled by glassware company JoyJolt due to over 100 reports of breakage. Customers reported that the glass mugs, meant to serve coffee and tea, broke when filled with hot liquids. Of these 100 reports, 56 injuries were reported, according to an announcement from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The mugs reportedly broke "at the base when exposed to hot liquids, causing burns and lacerations," JoyJolt's website notes. 35 of the 56 reported injuries were burns, while 21 were cutes. Seven of these injuries "required medical attention, including surgery and stitches." Yikes!
These mugs were sold as sets of six for $20-$25 from September 2019 through May 2022. If you bought one of these sets from Amazon or JoyJolt's website, you are encouraged to fill out a form on JoyJolt's website to receive a full refund, or contact the importer, MM Products.
