Last year, McDonald’s treated customers to the return of the chain’s holiday favorite drink—the Peppermint Mocha—and found so much success, they’re bringing it back this year! As reported by the Fast Food Post, this seasonal beverage will only be available for a limited time, and as seen on Twitter, some coffee lovers are even deeming it ‘better’ than the Starbucks equivalent. Here’s what we know:
According to the official McDonald’s McCafé website, this warm, coffee-infused treat is made with “espresso beans that are sustainably sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms, steamed whole or nonfat milk, peppermint chocolate syrup, and topped with whipped topping and chocolate drizzle.” The result is a festive, minty and chocolately drink that also still tastes like coffee.
Additionally, the Fast Food Post notes that McDonald’s fans can also now pick up a Peppermint Hot Chocolate at their local restaurant too! This drink, according to Mickey D’s, is “freshly brewed and silky smooth with chocolaty goodness,” and features the following ingredients, “whole milk, chocolate peppermint syrup, whipped light cream and chocolate drizzle.”
What Are Fans Saying?Fans could not be happier that the McDonald’s Peppermint Mocha is back, and they’re taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say so! Here’s a look at what customers are saying:
As any coffee lover knows, Starbucks also offers a Peppermint Mocha drink this time of year. According to the coffee giant’s website, their minty coffee beverage features “rich, full-bodied espresso mingled with the flavor of chocolate, peppermint and whipped cream.” While fans on Twitter continue to rave about both the McDonald’s and Starbucks Peppermint Mochas, some have crowned the former as having the “better-tasting drink,” as one fan recently tweeted.
Another chimed in on Twitter, writing, “I don’t care what y’all say about McDonald’s. their coffee is so good. omg and now that danish and Apple fritter!!!! And their peppermint mocha is better than Starbucks.” Someone else commented, “the grip a mcdonald’s iced peppermint mocha has on me,” while another Twitter user noted, “I will cry when McDonald’s gets rid of their peppermint mocha .. ok that’s the tweet.”
Try both chains’ Peppermint Mochas and prep for the upcoming holidays while you still can!
