When you’re trying to manage storage space on your phone, deleting apps is helpful and getting rid of attachments in messages can go a long way. But the source of many storage issues likes in one app that we seldom want to touch, even if for sentimental reasons: Photos. The amount of storage photos and videos take up depends on their resolution, format, and length, with types like ProRAW photos and Live Photos taking up the most space. Videos are far less forgiving, and the better the video quality, such as 4K, the more space consumed.
The thought of going through your entire photo album and deleting or moving over files and then deleting them from your device can be daunting. One TikToker had a unique and smart solution for dealing with them:

If you have thousands of photos and videos, this is the “best tip” to clear out “unnecessary” photos for more space.
Search By Date
One organized and methodical way of gaining more storage space and deleting photos is to search your Photos app folder by date. From there, you can sort through all of the photos that you took on a particular day. There’s a chance you snapped several pictures from one event and saved them all, but don’t actually need them all to remember the day. By sorting by date, you can more readily figure out which of these photos are keepers.
If you do this, you can sort through one date each day, working through photos a little at a time, so that the job isn’t overwhelming.

Other Tips For Saving Space on Photos
While you are making plans to go through your Photos app and delete photos that no longer serve you, it’s also a good idea to address the photos you’ll take today and tomorrow so that you don’t contribute more files that take up unnecessary amount of space. Some tips for saving space on photos included enabling iCloud Photos with "Optimize iPhone Storage" to offload full-resolution versions to the cloud, turning off Live Photos, and lowering the quality of your videos by heading to Settings > Camera > Record Video and choosing a lower resolution.
