Rite Aid Just Made A Huge Change To Its Stores & Customers Are Freaking Out!

Rite Aid is expanding it’s COVID-19 testing!

The publicly traded pharmacy chain announced plans to expand their COVID-19 testing sites and even expand testing criteria, as part of its ongoing partnership with the White House Coronavirus Task Force.

The company first tried the self-testing sites in Philadelphia on March 22, and announced further available testing in mid-April. It has since expanded to 8 U.S. states: Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan, Delaware, Connecticut and Virginia.

The testing takes place in each store's parking lot, and as part of the testing process, people must remain in their cars.

 

The 25th location opened in Richmond, VA on Thursday, April 23 as a part of the work with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Additionally, they expanded their testing criteria to all individuals 18 and older exhibiting any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain.

News that it's continuing to add safe and convenient testing locations across the U.S. is huge! This means getting results on your COVID-19 test from the convenience of your car is available to more Americans than before.

All of Rite Aid's self-testing sites will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. seven days a week and expect to be able to conduct approximately 200 tests each day through online appointments. In total, Rite Aid will have the capacity to conduct nearly 5,000 tests daily across all locations, the press site reveals.
