Only a few of these VIB/Beauty Insider sales run at the retailer each year, so when they do, it’s a perfect opportunity to stock up.
While many of 2023 Sephora Beauty Insider sales have already come and gone, we still have half a year of sale dates to share with you all—along with some insider tips for making the most of every sale at Sephora, from this summer on. Keep on reading for all the deets!
How Do Sephora Sales Work?
Sephora likes to do things a little differently. With the exception of its Oh Snap!, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday sales, Sephora sales tend to exclusively be for the members of its Beauty Insider rewards program. This might sound a little unfair, but it’s actually very simple to join the Sephora Beauty Insider program—and, best of all, there's no fees to pay nor credit cards to sign up for.
How To Join The Sephora Beauty Insider Program
Joining the Sephora Beauty Insider rewards program takes just seconds (yes, really!), is totally free, and best of all, there is no minimum spend to qualify. There's truly no reason not to join! But there are hundreds of reasons to become a member and having access to the highly-anticipated Sephora VIB/Beauty Insider Sales is one of the best ones.
What Are Sephora VIB/Insider Sales?
Sephora's Insider Sale is its way of honoring its most loyal customers, a.k.a, the Beauty Insiders. Insiders earn points on every purchase made at Sephora, whether online or in-store. It's a tiered program, starting with Insider, and then the more you shop and accrue points, you'll reach the second tier of VIB (which stands for "Very Important Beauty") and ultimately the tippy-top tier, Rouge. (We'll go into a little more detail about this below.)
How Much Can I Save At A Sephora VIB Insider Sale?
Insiders receive 10% off during the Insider sales events, while VIB members receive 15% off, and the elite Rouge members can get a whopping 20% off their beauty items at the Insider sale.

The Sephora Beauty Insider program is divided into three tiers:
Sephora Insider
New members are automatically awarded Insider status when they join Sephora Beauty Insider for free, with Insiders earning 1 point back on all Sephora purchases. With Insider-level membership, you can get access to most of the exclusive Sephora Beauty Insider sale events, including the Sephora Spring Sale and VIB Holiday Bonus Sale. It's also pretty cool that for basic membership it takes just seconds to join and there's no minimum spend required!
Sephora VIB
Members are awarded VIB status when they spend over $350 at Sephora within a calendar year. VIB status earns you 1.25 points back, as well as access to all the Sephora Beauty Insider sale events, including the Sephora Spring Sale, Summer Bonus Sale and VIB Holiday Bonus Sale.
Sephora Rouge
Members are awarded VIB Rouge status once they spend over $1,000 at Sephora within one calendar year. Rouge membership status earns you 1.5 points back on all Sephora purchases, and best of all, early access to the Sephora Beauty Insider sale events, including the Sephora Spring Sale, Summer Bonus Sale and VIB Holiday Bonus Sale.
The 2023 Sephora VIB Summer Bonus Sale
If this year's event is anything like years past, this sale will touch just about everything. Sephora's VIB Bonus Sales give eligible shoppers a sitewide discount depending on their membership tier: Insider, VIB, or Rouge. This sale, like the other Sephora Bonus Sales, will only be accessible to members—unlike the Spring and Holiday Bonus Sales, however, you have to be a VIB or Rouge member to participate; Insider status alone won't cut it.
When Is The 2023 Sephora VIB Summer Bonus Sale?
Sephora has 3 VIB sales a year—one in April, the Spring Bonus Sale; one in August, the Summer Bonus Sale; and one in November, the Holiday Bonus Sale. The next one we'll see starts on August 19th for Rouge members only (they receive "first access"), then continues for Rouge and VIB members from August 20th to August 27th. There is no limit to how many times a VIB or Rouge member can shop at Sephora during this period using their membership savings, which is pretty awesome!
What Can I Save During The 2023 Sephora VIB Summer Bonus Sale?
Rouge members will receive 20% off their entire purchase(s) off from 8/19/23 - 8/27/23, while VIB members will receive 15% off any purchases made from from 8/20/23 - 8/27/23.
Upcoming 2023 Sephora Sale Dates
A few of 2023's Sephora Insider sales have already come and gone, but there are still half a year's worth left to get your savings on!
July: Sephora's Fourth of July sale always promises some sweet savings. It usually lasts for just a few days—the 2022 Fourth of July Sale started July 1st and ran through the 4th, with free shipping on all orders with no minimum. Shoppers can expect discounts of up to 50% off many beauty must-haves. That's not all: last year's Summer Skincare Sale hit right after, so we can probably expect something similar this year, with up to 25% off top skincare brands every day for about a week, in stores and online.
September: The Sephora Oh Snap! Fall Sale is similar to the spring Sephora Oh Snap! Sale, with the fall version being the perfect opportunity to stock up on all your autumnal essentials. From darker lip colors to smokier eye hues, to tinted moisturizers to make up for the fact that we are getting less sun, the makeup-bag-upgrading opportunities are endless! We might also get another Oh Hair Yeah! sale, which we saw last year from September 30th through October 10th. The 2022 version of the sale offered up to 50% off on tons of haircare products and brands.
October: Sephora's National Brow Day Sale coincides with National Brow Day on October 2nd. This one-day event gives shoppers a chance to get some great deals to make their brows their very best asset.
November: Hoo-wee, November is a busy month for Sephora! First up is the Sephora's VIB Holiday Bonus Sale, which is open to all membership tiers (including Insiders) on most items online and in stores. Rouge members start off the sale on November 5th; VIB follows on the 9th and Insiders on the 11th. The sale will run through November 15th for all membership tiers. Like the Summer Bonus sale, Rouge members will get 20% off purchases, VIB members will get 15% off, and for the Holiday version, Insiders join in on the savings with 10% off. All Sephora Collection items will also be 30% off across the board.
Sephora Black Friday Sale 2022
We then have the Sephora Black Friday Sale, which is the general public's chance to get involved in the sale, and not just Beauty Insider members. The Black Friday sale gifts everyone 20% off their purchase with a $150 minimum spend; 15% off their purchase with no minimum spend. This will likely start Thanksgiving Day and run through Cyber Monday. And speaking of: Right after, we'll have the Cyber Monday Sale, which falls on the Monday after Thanksgiving and is also accessible to everyone. Savings are usually epic (don’t be shocked to find 50% off your favorites, along with free shipping) but quantities are usually very limited, so if you see something you like, snap it up fast!
December: Sephora's Gifts For All Event is the early Christmas present we never knew we needed! It takes place in early December (2021's version ran 12/3 - 12/12; 2022's sale ran 12/2 - 12/11), and Beauty Insiders of all tiers can take part in this event that gives all Beauty Insider tiers 20% off their entire purchase, and 30% off the Sephora Collection. Keep your eyes peeled for official date announcements, and don't be surprised if we get a similar Fragrance For All Event directly after, just like last year! Just before the end of the year, we'll probably score another Sephora After-Christmas sale, which popped up last year right after the holiday and ran through New Year's Day, offering an extra 20% off sale items and free shipping on all orders.
