What do your iPhone settings have to do with your battery charge? Probably more than you think. You can protect your battery from damage by avoiding frequent drains and overcharging, says Miranda Yan, founder of VinPit. Yan outlines for SHEFinds.com the five settings tech experts say you should change before they completely ruin your battery.
1. Turn off the wifi and Bluetooth
“Try keeping the wifi and Bluetooth of your phone turned off when not in use as it drains the battery and makes it prone to frequent charging, which can damage it in the long run,” Yan says.
2. Lower down the brightness
“100% brightness will drain your battery much quicker, and you will have to plug it frequently which can ruin it,” Yan says.
3. Change the location settings
“Change the location settings of different apps to - ‘allow only when using the app.’ These apps often keep on scanning locations and waste battery life.”
4. Turn-off Assistant
They can be extremely helpful — but iPhone assistants can also be extremely consuming of your battery power and bad for privacy.
“Assistants like Siri and Google Assistant are most of the time listening to you and your conversation and are active — thus, draining the battery,” Yan says. “Let them go.”
5. Do not force stop apps
“Some people think that force stopping all the apps running in the background will minimize battery usage,” Yan says. “Well, that's a myth, and such practice can mess up your phone's system by using much more battery power in force-stopping apps.”
Following these five easy setting suggestions can boost your phone’s battery power and keep it running for longer — and they’re so easy to modify.
