When you’re enjoying social media time, you may think a lot about how so many of these apps are a major distraction. But what you may not be thinking about is how they can negatively impact your phone, as well as your work schedule. It’s widely known that many social media apps are among the worst offenders when it comes to battery drainage, which makes sense when you think about how many functions they serve — from streaming media to constantly updating to provide you with new content. If you’re trying to conserve battery power, this is one good place to start: this is the one social media app you need to delete from your iPhone immediately—it’s draining the battery so fast.
Uninstall Infrequently Used Apps
“To prevent round data usage and battery drainage, it's better to uninstall all unused applications,” Yan says. “The more apps there are on your phone, the more power your phone uses to keep them running in the background.”

Use Power-Saving Mode
The best way to allow your battery a longer life and efficient performance are by activating the power-saving mode found in the settings of most phones, Yan says. “This limits the processor usage and reduces the screen’s brightness display, using only the bare minimum power to keep its critical functions running.”

Since Facebook is a highly used app, Smith says it’s difficult to just not use it, but there are things you can do to make sure it doesn't do much in the background. “You can turn off the internal notifications of your app from settings and minimize the app's overall use to save battery,” Smith says. “You can also use the Facebook Lite version, which takes up less internet and less battery but certainly has a poor overall experience.”

If you do decide to delete Facebook, one app that you shouldn’t replace it with if battery is a concern is Snapchat. “Snapchat is another very commonly used app that is very effective in draining your battery,” Smith. says. “There is no denying that it is an entertaining app to use, but its notification service alone is enough to suck up your battery life. Additionally, it has an option that runs Google Maps in the background where the user's live location is consistently shared with its contacts. This is another app that many won't consider removing, but they can still minimize its background running features to save battery. You can stop sharing your location from the in-app settings. You can also shut down the notification service from settings to reduce that battery usage as well.”
