It’s the thing many iPhone users want more of: space. So many of your daily phone activities and habits take up tons of storage space — everything from snapping photos and videos to using apps that are resource-intensive. Since the worst thing in the world is needing your phone to do what you want it to do at that very moment, only to be confronted with that dreaded “Storage is Full” pop-up, it’s important to find ways to free up storage space so that your phone works efficiently.
Luckily, there’s a hack for that — three hacks, actually. There are three hacks that you can start putting into play today to free up storage space.
Delete An App’s Data and Cache
One of the fastest ways to free up storage is by deleting those apps that take up a lot of storage. But we get it: that’s not necessarily something you want to do. Instead of deleting it, clear the app’s data and your browser’s cache. For Safari, go to Settings > Safari > Clear History and and Website Data.
To clear the cache in Chrome, head to Chrome > Options >Settings > Privacy > Clear Browser Data.
Delete Photos
One of the quickest ways to free up storage on your phone is by deleting photos and videos that are taking up space. Once you delete them, make sure you also permanently remove them from your deleted items folder. And be careful that you aren’t taking a photo in Burst Mode, which takes a series of rapid photos when you keep your finger down on the shutter.
Delete Messages & Images in Messages
The many iMessages you have stored up can do a number on your storage. As a rule, make it a priority to go into messages once in awhile and delete a batch. If you can’t delete all of your messages, but you have certain messages that contain several photos, another way to free up storage is by removing the photos from your texts.
To do this: open a text conversation >tap and hold an image in the thread > tap “More” > select images > delete them.
These three simple hacks can save you so much storage space so that your phone works more efficiently.
