If you, like me, weren’t sure how they were different, here’s a cheat sheet:

HomeGoods vs. Homesense

At Homesense, you’ll find more large-scale furnishings like sofas, sectionals, dining room sets, area rugs, dining chairs in sets of 6 & up and chandeliers.

Homesense does not offer expanded food, kids, pet or bedding–those departments are exclusive to HomeGoods.

Shopping Tips

Joanna Howarth, Public Relations Manager for HomeGoods and Homesense, shared her tips with us:

1. Shop often. “The assortment at both HomeGoods and Homesense is always changing, which means something new and different might inspire you every time you visit. Though both stores offer many of the same merchandise categories, some differ at the two, making the shopping experience truly complimentary.”

2. Befriend your store manager. “They’ll be able to give you the inside scoop on when new shipments arrive so you can grab your favorite brands as soon as they hit the floor. The average store receives several deliveries per week. Unlike traditional retailers, HomeGoods and Homesense generally don’t do promotions, coupons, or other gimmicks — we offer brand name and home fashion items that are 20%-60% less than department and specialty store regular prices on comparable merchandise, every single day.”

3. Join the rewards program. “With the TJX Rewards credit card, our members receive $10 off for every $200 spent at our family of stores – the more you shop the more you earn back towards future purchases. Card members also receive insider scoop on upcoming store openings and events, as well as any sneak peeks at new announcements.”

To find your nearest Homesense, check out the store locator.
