Orange Juice

According to Express UK, "Orange juice may be a classic morning drink but it’s a poor option for people wanting to lose weight. The fruit juice is packed with sugar and, if shop-bought in a carton, low in nutrition."

Plus, adding this high sugar drink into your diet can be detrimental for your weight loss goals.

Livestrong explains, "One of the main downsides to drinking orange juice when trying to lose weight is the sugar content. Excess sugar consumption can raise blood sugar levels, which can hinder your weight loss."

The article continues, "Additionally, nutritionist Dr. Jonny Bowden notes that when compared to other types of sugar, fructose -- the sugar found in juice -- converts to fat more quickly."

Plus, orange juice won't keep you full since it lacks the fiber and other nutrients in whole fruit.

With that in mind, if you're hoping to increase your vitamin C intake, you're better off eating an orange than drinking OJ.

In fact, if you are drinking orange juice for your immune system, you should probably reconsider. According to Business Insider, it could be counterproductive.

"Some studies suggest it could actually do more harm than good, since the juice is high in the sugar fructose, which some evidence suggests could actually suppress your immune system," the article explains.
