How Avocados Aid Your Weight Loss Journey
When eaten in the morning, avocados can provide essential energy to last the day, Best says. Avocados, she notes, are an excellent way to take in "many nutrients and healthy fats" that can improve our health. They are beneficial for heart health, inflammation, and even skin health while also supporting healthy weight loss, she adds.
One popular way to consume avocados in the morning is by adding them to whole grain toast, which can provide even more fiber, she suggests (and fiber is necessary for comfortable digestion to help lose weight healthily). "Avocado toast is becoming a very popular breakfast staple," she explains, especially among health enthusiasts and "those wanting to integrate healthier eating."
The healthy fats that avocados provide along with the fiber found in whole wheat toast, she continues, are an "incredible weight loss combination." These two factors will cause the digestion process to slow down, she adds, which will "keep the consumer full for longer and thereby prevent overeating."
Ultimately, Best concludes, when making your avocado toast, "opt for a whole grain or whole wheat option, gluten free if able, and void of added sugars and refined carbs." This, she stresses, will allow you to get the "most out of your avocado toast." Yum!
