Not Social Distancing
When there's a lot of people in a limited space, it can difficult to keep your distance. However, it is necessary. Practicing social distancing guidelines involves staying six feet away from others.
CNN Health explains, "When someone coughs or sneezes, small drops of liquid spray from their nose or mouth. If you're standing too close, you can breathe in the droplets, which may contain the coronavirus if the person coughing is infected, according to the World Health Organization."
With that in mind, if you find yourself in a crowded area, taking the time to ensure you are six feet away from others is an important step in making your outing safe.
It's also important to continue to wear your mask when in crowds--even when you are outside. Because a crowd can be hard to control, it will be difficult to maintain six feet of distance at all times. Likewise, it's important to be wearing a mask as well.
Ben Cowling, a professor of epidemiology and a mask researcher at the University of Hong Kong's School of Public Health, explained the usefulness of masks to Business Insider.
"Among people that still need to go to work, particularly people who need to go through crowded areas like underground trains and public-transport systems, wearing masks on those could be particularly useful," he said.
