Poshmark is one of my favorite apps for selling and buying new and used clothing and accessories. As an avid user of the app, I've come across many buying do's and don'ts. While there are tons of genuine and nice sellers on the app, there are also plenty of scammers selling fake items. The most common complaint about Poshmark is their poor customer service. The app does not have a direct phone number, so you can only contact them through email. If you aren't satisfied with your purchase, it can be extremely difficult to get your money back. Click through the slideshow to find out which items you should avoid buying on Poshmark.

Designer Handbags
Watch out for imitation handbags and fakes on Poshmark. I almost bought a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag on the app for a great price. Just before I made the purchase, I realized it was listed as "Mansur Gavriel Style Bag" and was a complete fake. While there are plenty of real designer bags on Poshmark, you should always do a quality check before you make your purchase. What other items does the seller have in their closet? Are the images original or pulled from other website? Do they have a receipt or guarantee of authenticity? If I'm spending hundreds of dollars on a handbag, I want to guarantee that it's real. That's why I often prefer websites like The RealReal and Trendlee for buying luxury handbags. These website examine the quality of bags and confirm authenticity before reselling them.

Makeup
Tons of people buy and sell makeup on Poshmark. Personally, I find the world of reselling makeup a little skevy. Unless the product is wrapped or unopened, I prefer to buy new. Makeup on Poshmark comes straight from the seller and it could be counterfeit or unusable.
If you really want to score a deal on makeup, I recommend trying Glambot instead of Poshmark. Glambot is website that buys and sells new and used makeup. Before they resell a product, they examine it, confirm it's authenticity, determine it's in good condition, and sanitize it. Then they sell it to you at a huge discount. Sign up here.

Expensive Shoes
I specifically don't recommend buying pricey shoes on Poshmark because if they don't fit, you're out of luck. Many people on this review website experienced problems with buying footwear off of Poshmark. The shoes they purchased were either unauthentic or the wrong size and Poshmark customer service was slow to help.
