There have been a number of shortages on essential products across the country over the past few years. Back at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was toilet paper; a few months ago, it was baby formula; now, a tampon shortage is upon us. Luckily, though, Costco has pulled through with their bulk items just when we needed them most. It turns out this beloved warehouse store is stocked with this feminine hygiene product, and women are rejoicing at the news.
The shortage at hand is due to a combination of rising demand and supply chain issues, Time reports. These supply chain issues have made it difficult for companies to acquire the cotton and plastic necessary to manufacture the tampons that shoppers so desperately need, resulting in low counts across multiple stores such as Walgreens and CVS. Where tampons can be found online, costs are skyrocketing.

However, ladies, Costco has our back as usual! One women-run Instagram account dedicated to the membership-based store spread the good news on June 17 by posting a photo of two tampon brands they spotted at the Pacoima location in Los Angeles. “These are the options at Costco if you’re looking for them!” @CostcoSisters wrote. Hallelujah!
As with most items sold at Costco, these tampons come in a bulk. Tampax Pearl Advanced Comfort Grip regular and super sizes come in 96-count for $17.49. Additionally, shoppers can find a 76-count of L brand 100% Organic Core Tampons for $12.99. While the Tampax 96-pack is available both online and in stores (also available for two-day delivery), the L. tampons can be found in select stores.
As one commenter noted, Costco is certainly “coming in clutch with the bulk,” as usual.
