1. Get Done Your Most Dreaded To-Do Items
The weekend should be time to relax and unwind, yes, but successful women also look at those two days off as the perfect time to tackle their to-do list. No one ever feels like doing laundry, but especially not during the work week after a long day, so get it done on Saturday or Sunday. Pick one day on the weekend finish your most dreaded to-do list items, such as clean the house, empty out your purse, whatever you need. Getting it down and over with will allow you to function more efficiently during the week.
2. Unplug From The Digital World
The idea of completely unplugging from the digital world terrifies most women but it’s important for your mental health every once in a while. You don’t have to spend ALL weekend away from your phone or laptop, but dedicate some time to just be present. Do this when you’re with friends, family, or enjoying some me-time. Successful women give their brains some time off from from emails, texts, and social media to reset--it will make you feel sharper when it’s time to start working again.
3. Spend One Whole Day NOT Working
With that last thing said, successful women also understand work life balance. If you plan on finishing up your to-do list on Sunday, then make Saturday focused on relaxation. On this one day, don’t check your email or think about work things. Instead, fill your time with hobbies that bring you happiness. Go for a run, work on a personal project, or even just have a movie marathon. If you hustle during the week, you deserve a fun day.
4. Wake Up Early-ish
Even though you don’t NEED to be at work at 9 am, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still wake up early. Successful girl bosses know the early bird really does get the worm. Once you get in your recommended 7-9 hours, wake up and get your day started. You can’t be productive if you’re oversleeping until 11am on Saturday and Sunday.
5. Take A Well-Deserved Break
Successful women pay attention to their bodies and minds. They know when to stop and take a break. You can’t hustle if you’re burnt out! Set an intention to spend most of your weekends doing fulfilling, productive things. But whenever it feels necessary, just take a break from it all. Stay in your pajamas all day, leave the laundry to get done next weekend, order takeout instead of cooking, whatever you need. It’s all about balance.
6. Prep For The Upcoming Week
Self-care Sunday shouldn’t just be about pampering yourself, although that’s a great habit to adopt, as well. Sunday is the perfect time to prepare yourself for the upcoming busy work week. Make a to-do list, update your calendar, meal prep. Do anything that will make your life easier Monday through Friday.
7. Make Time For Hobbies
You should look forward to the weekends and fill them with fun and exciting adventures and hobbies. If you enjoy hiking, set a goal to go on a hike at least one weekend per month. If tennis is your thing, go play tennis every Saturday after breakfast. Successful women know life is short, you should fill it with things that bring you happiness!
