It’s unanimous: workers at Burger King agree that you shouldn’t order a Whopper Jr.–the less, popular, smaller version of their bestselling Whopper sandwich–when you visit the fast food chain. In sum, it’s because you’re eating essentially the same food and ingredients, but the mini version is less popular and in turn, less likely to be made fresh. Here’s everything we know from BK workers about how to navigate this tricky menu choice:

Whopper vs. Whopper Jr.You only save $2 on the smaller sandwich, and since you’re already eating pretty unhealthfully–what does the different of a few hundred calories really make? The Whopper Jr. still has an alarmingly high salt (390mg), fat (18g) and carbohydrate (27g) content.
And, here’s the kicker, it’s harder to the Whopper Jr. so it’s less likely to be fresh when you eat it.
