The ever-popular Trader Joe’s has done it again! This store, which is known for their affordable groceries and top-notch off-brand personal care products, is now selling their very own sheer sunscreen—and customers think it may just be the perfect dupe for a pricier fan-favorite brand.
That’s right: shoppers across the Internet are raving that Trader Joe’s new Daily Facial Sunscreen is “totally a Supergoop Unseen [Sunscreen] dupe.” And the best part is that it comes in at just one quarter of the original price. It’s a difference of $8.99 versus $34—but you didn’t hear it from us.

An popular Instagram account dedicated to highlighting the best finds at Trader Joe’s, @traderjoesobsessed, recently spread the good news with a reel showing off the brand new product. “OBSESSED with the new clear gel sunscreen,” they wrote in the caption. “It goes on velvety smooth and is fragrance free!”
But how similar is this off-brand product to the real deal, exactly? As it turns out, they’re almost identical! “A dermatologist checked the ingredients and they are very similar,” @traderjoesobsessed continued. Score! As frugal Supergoop fans ourselves, we can’t wait to give it a try.
In case anyone else is a sunscreen nerd and hasn’t heard the gossip yet: there’s a new $9 clear gel sunscreen at Trader Joes that’s allegedly the same formula as the $20 Supergoop one. It’s completely clear, so no white cast, and a beautiful, silky texture.

Loyal Trader Joe’s customers are excited, too. “Omg I literally just bought the real thing, but I’m gonna get this once I run out,” one follower wrote in the comments.
Other shoppers took to Twitter to spread this info: “Attention skincare addicts pls don’t buy Supergoop sunscreen for $45+ instead buy the Trader Joe’s brand bc it has the same exact ingredients for $9!!!” one user wrote. Another Tweeter confirmed that it’s “completely clear, so no white cast, and a beautiful, silky texture.” God bless the messengers! We’re heading to Trader Joe’s, like, ASAP.
