How often do you pay attention to your apps? Like, really pay attention to them in a way that makes you aware of how some are zapping your phone of battery power right before your eyes? It’s normal to go about your day, use your apps, and forget that some are taxing on your device or, worse, can compromise your privacy, security, and data. Tech Expert Sergii Zhuravel, lead software engineer at Absio, spoke with SHEFinds.com about the unexpected app you need to delete immediately to boost your security. Once you get rid of this app you may be shocked at how much better your phone runs.

Default Browsers

“Some manufacturers and developers of third-party firmware provide their creations with special versions of the browser,” Zhuravel says. “As a rule, links to advertisers' websites and other content you do not need are tightly sewn into them. In addition, no one can guarantee that such a browser does not collect and send your information somewhere. It is better to never use such a program and generally, if possible, remove it from the system.”

Instead, Zhuravel says there are dozens of good browsers for Android, but Google Chrome is undoubtedly the most reliable and fastest. “It is functional, has support for the most modern web technologies, knows how to save mobile traffic and has a simple and intuitive interface,” Zhuravel reveals.

There’s no way to list apps that need to go bye-bye without stating an obvious one: Facebook.

“The social network Facebook is the most popular in the world today, so it is not surprising that a huge number of users have installed the corresponding mobile application,” Zhuravel says. “The mobile client allows you to receive notifications of new likes, post pictures of your food and always stay in touch with your friends. However, in return, this application consumes a huge amount of system resources and significantly reduces the battery life of the mobile gadget.”

According to the annual AVG Android App Report, the Facebook mobile client was at the top of the charts for the most voracious programs on the Android platform, Zhuravel says.

If you want to stay in touch with friends and family via Facebook without the risks, Zhuravel says there is an alternative. “Use the mobile version of Facebook in any modern browser. The functionality is not much different, but there are no annoying notifications and a rapidly melting battery.”
