How Drinking Green Tea & Eating Oatmeal Can Boost Metabolism
Jax says that drinking green tea while eating "oatmeal with a scoop of collagen peptides, craisins and walnuts," is what she dubs a "power breakfast." Studies have shown that green tea has "compounds that can lead to increasing metabolism," Jax explains. She also deems the drink to be super "hydrating and can fill up stomach volume to provide satiety." Pairing it with oatmeal is ideal, as this food is "fiber-rich, a healthy source of carbohydrates and collagen peptides to increase protein that maintains the body’s lean body mass." Jax adds that the "healthy fats in walnuts makes for a nutrient-dense and fulfilling breakfast without being deprived on your weight loss goals."
Chatfield agrees, and says that "starting out the day with foods high in soluble fiber can also help with satiety and prevent overeating later." It’s also important to get "adequate protein at each meal to keep your metabolic rate up," and protein also helps with satiety. "A cup of green tea may also help," Chatfield adds, as "some studies have found a boost in metabolism and higher weight loss when drinking green tea." Richards also notes that "detox teas can be a great beverage to consume to speed up metabolism and fat burning," and that one of the most "effective detox teas are those with a high antioxidant content, like green tea."
