An executive with Walgreens just revealed that the pharmacy chain will offer the Covid-19 vaccine in stores by spring!
The company recently began administering the life-saving vaccine to high-priority groups, but senior vice president of pharmacy and health care Rick Gates recently told CNBC that a more “widespread” availability should be offered soon.

“I’d say late March, early April will be the timeline that you’ll have it more broadly across all of our stores across the nation of pharmacies and other places to start vaccinations,” he said at the channel's "Healthy Returns" virtual event last week.
Walgreens participated in the federal distribution program of the vaccination, but so far those limited doses have been for high-priority groups.

Gates revealed that the company is hopeful that Johnson & Johnson's pending vaccine could help boost supply and get the vaccine to more people.
The pharmacy chain began doling out the vaccine on Friday, February 5th at specific store locations in 15 states, including Chicago and New York City.

"High priority" individuals include those whose age or medical conditions put them at higher risk. We can't wait for more vaccines to become available for all!
