Walgreens will be opening doctors’ offices in their drugstores soon!
Yes, that’s right–you won’t just be going to Walgreens for toilet paper and nail polish remover anymore.
The pharmacy just signed a deal with VillageMD to open in-store doctor offices in hundreds of locations--and we are so excited about this.

The company just announced that it will open doctor offices in 500 to 700 store locations over the next 5 years.
This is apart of Walgreens' larger initiative to make their stores health and wellness destinations, with current in-store partnerships with For Eyes and Jenny Craig.

The company notes that these primary-care clinics will be about 3,300 square feet and will open in areas where there is a shortage of health professionals. We love the idea of getting care to underserved populations--plus, it will be so convenient!
NBC notes that the chain is also testing a small-format pharmacy designed to strengthen relationships between pharmacists and patients, particularly those on multiple medications. This is so important!
