In a press release, the retailer explained the new cleaning measures they are taking to keep their stores sanitized: We’re dedicating associates in every store to clean high-traffic, high-touch areas, like checkouts and shopping carts, every day."
They are also taking measures to help customers maintain social distancing, adding floor decals to indicate the proper distance customers should maintain while shopping.
The release continues, "We're using a single, clearly designated entrance and another clearly designated exit at each store to help maintain social distancing and lessen the instances of people closely passing each other."
They are also placing limits on the numbers of customers allowed in at a time to no more than five customers for each 1,0000 square feet.
To help those who are most vulnerable to Coronavirus, Walmart is also implementing a senior hour every Tuesday from 6 am to 7 am for customers who are 60 or older or are higher risk.
With these measures, the company is hoping to continue to provide essentials for their communities during this time while also helping shoppers stay safe and healthy by abiding by social distancing recommendations.
