A growing number of TikTok users are accusing stores of misleading customers about the quantity of items they get for their money. Among the various retailers mentioned, Walmart frequently comes up in these discussions, as reported by The Daily Dot. The issue gained attention when one shopper on the social media platform noticed their Walmart smoked bacon weighed 5 ounces less than what the packaging claimed.
This prompted another TikTok user, Chad (@chads113), to investigate Walmart’s pricing himself. What he discovered was startling. In a video that has garnered over 843,000 views, Chad examines two packs of pork products at Walmart. Despite their strikingly similar appearance, which led Chad to initially think they were the same item, they are actually different products.

TikTokers Call Out Walmart For Varying Prices On Nearly Identical-Weight Meat Products
Both packs seem to have nearly the same weight, but there is a significant difference in price per pound: one is marked at $4.34 per pound, while the other is priced at $3.57 per pound. Chad points out that the latter pack indicates a weight of 4.33 pounds, resulting in a total price of $15.46. This is peculiar, given that the pack looks similar to the one listed at less than a pound.
Upon evaluating both packs, it seems they have nearly the same weight. This means that the 4.33-pound label and the estimated $15.46 for that pack are inaccurate. "People, make sure you really weigh this stuff before you buy it," the TikTok user says. Later on, he claims: "Walmart is on some scam sh-t." He also adds: "be warned people." Chad stressed that he wanted to purchase the "same type of pack, same everything," except, "the price is dramatically different."
In the comments section, people urged Chad to put in more effort to highlight this Walmart branch's conduct. One wrote: "Department of weights and measures. Different packaging aside, if they are selling it at 4lbs it should weigh 4lbs." Another added: "Yeah I was a cashier at Walmart a few years ago and I would find this all the time." Someone else shared: "They could be the same exact cut and everything but the price would be wrong on one I would even check the weight."
