Walmart is now offering the Covid-19 vaccine in a drive-thru format in 18 states across the United States!
The convenient delivery of the life-saving vaccine is just the latest way the Arkansas-based chain is assisting with the recovery. They are now doling out the doses at 1,400 pharmacies in 35 states, the company said in February 25th release. This is huge!

The site states that the big box store launched drive-thru locations in store parking lots in " vulnerable communities," in order to reach more people and "drive higher vaccination rates." We love to see it!
The 43 new Walmart Covid-19 sites were selected on a need for medical service basis, in partnership with community organizations such as Casa del Inmigrante/Immigrant Home Foundation, an immigrants nonprofit in Las Vegas.

"Walmart selected many of the new locations after an analysis of area demographics, local health needs and gaps in critical access to medical services, to pinpoint communities where Walmart can make the greatest impact for populations most in need," the release states.
The states where you can receive a drive-thru vaccine are: Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia.

"We have two goals as we administer vaccines," executive vice president, Health & Wellness Dr. Cheryl Pegus said in the statement. "First, to reach as many people as possible to enable reopening efforts, and second, to ensure equitable vaccine distribution across the communities we serve." Thank you, Walmart!
