Wegmans has expanded the list of products with purchase limits, the store revealed in a November 16th release.
The grocery giant acknowledged supply chain issues in an article posted to their site just days before Thanksgiving and the holiday shopping season. What does this mean?

The company announced that it will prevent customers from buying more than one of certain items such as packages of tissue paper, napkins, all-purpose cleaners and more, as the country faces record cases of COVID-19.
“What the grocery industry experienced in March was unlike anything we had ever seen before,” Sarah DePeters, vice president of grocery, dairy, frozen merchandising revealed. “We’ve certainly learned from that experience, and have worked incredibly hard since then, not only to replenish supply, but also to make sure we don’t find ourselves in a similar situation.”

A company spokesperson asserted that "merchandising team has spent the last several months sourcing additional suppliers, bringing in new brands, and working with our Wegmans Brand suppliers to build up our own holiday and winter reserves, in our own warehouses, as well as at our suppliers." Aka, they have been doing their best to keep shelves stock despite the global pandemic.
The company joins grocery chains such as Kroger, Whole Foods and Giant in enforcing new purchase limits during the third and deadliest wave of the virus.

Here is the completely list of products that Wagman is enforcing purchase limits on currently: Paper towels; Facial tissues Napkins; Household cleaners – includes bathroom cleaners, all-purpose cleaners, toilet bowl cleaners, and window/glass cleaners; Disinfecting wipes; Wegmans peanut butter; All disinfectant sprays; Kitchen trash bags; Freezer bags; Food storage bags; Disposable paper plates; Bath tissue; Items containing Famotidine.
