There are plenty of low-calorie drink options, such as coffee and iced tea, that allow you to enjoy a treat without compromising your weight loss goals. If you’re a fan of shopping at Aldi and are aiming for a healthier diet this winter, fitness coach and TikTok personality Trent Harrison recently pointed out the top low-calorie beverages available at Aldi and the ones you should steer clear of to support your weight loss journey.

While filming inside of a grocery store, Harrison told his TikTok followers: “These are the best low-calorie drinks you need to grab from Aldi if you’re on a weight loss journey.” He then took viewers around an Aldi location, showing them exactly which popular drinks to snag and skip.

A Fitness Coach's Take on the 'Best' and 'Worst Aldi Drinks for Weight Loss

Skip: Barissimo Mocha Iced Coffee

"Everybody likes starting their day off with coffee, but you want to make sure your coffee is as low of calories as possible," Harrison explained. He then advised shoppers to avoid this product if they want to lose weight healthily in 2025. "So going with the mocha iced coffee, that's 140 calories. Nope."

Buy: Barissimo Blonde Roast Iced Coffee

Instead, Harrison opted for this blonde roast alternative. "If you love iced coffee, grab a black coffee and sweeten it with protein powder," he advised. Harrison further explained: "That way you can have high protein and low calories for your morning coffee.

Buy: PurAqua Sparkling Frost Caffeine Strawberry Citrus

Harrison then gave a nod to those watching who might not enjoy coffee but still need a morning caffeine fix. "Now, let's say you're not a coffee fan in the morning. Still, you want to shoot for low-calorie caffeinated beverages," he said. He then pointed out that a sparkling water drink could serve this purpose. He noted that the above product is "only 5 calories" and that "sparkling water is a weight loss hack" as it "fills your stomach up and it satisfies your sweet tooth."

Skip: Benner Tea Co Peach Iced Tea

Harrison joked that peach teas like these are "definitely going to grow your peach, but not in a good way." He showed followers that this drink can come to 160 calories and is also packed with added sugar and sodium. According to many specialists, consuming processed, added, or excessive sugar can negate any weight loss advantages provided by the tea.

Buy: Benner Zero Sugar Peach Tea

This alternative, Harrison explained, "has ten calories and is much better" overall. When aiming for weight loss, it is crucial to reduce or eliminate added sugar from your diet. Consuming sugar is harmful to your health because it contributes empty calories and can be stored as fat if not burned off. Surprisingly, you might be consuming more added sugars than you realize by drinking something commonly perceived as healthy: iced tea. Therefore, Harrison emphasizes that opting for a zero-sugar version is the best choice.

The Bottom Line

Sweetened beverages such as iced coffee and iced tea are frequently labeled as unhealthy by nutrition specialists regarding overall well-being, weight management, and metabolism. Despite their appealing flavors, these drinks often have more downsides, including a lack of nutrients and the presence of artificial additives, which overshadow their benefits. Nonetheless, as Harrison demonstrated in his video, there are simple dietary adjustments you can make to keep enjoying your favorite drinks without hindering your weight loss goals in 2025.
