When you need for your phone to hold its charge longer, you have a few options that can help increase your battery’s longevity. There are several settings that you can disable, for starters, including Background App Refresh and Push Notifications. From there, you may want to consider what’s taking up your storage space, whether that means too many photos and videos on your phone, or resource-intensive apps like Facebook and Instagram. With all of those issues squared away (because they could be the main culprits if your phone’s battery dwindles fast), there are also pre-installed apps that deserve your attention.
Pre-installed apps are not big battery drains like Facebook, but when every little bit of storage space counts, there’s no reason to keep an app that doesn’t serve you. If you aren’t using these four pre-installed iPhone apps, consider deleting them.

1. Stocks
Unless you’re actively using Stocks, it won’t take up a lot of battery power. This app can take up between 50 MB to 100 MB of storage, however, and deleting it may help conserve some space and battery.

2. Apple News
Apple News can take up around 100 MB to 200 MB of storage space. If you have a trusted source for news and don’t rely on your phone’s aggregator, it’s fine to delete the app.

3. Compass
The Compass app takes up around 10 MB to 20 MB. It isn’t much of a battery drain, but deleting it will free up a small amount of space.

4. Health
The iPhone’s Health app takes up 50 MB to 100 MB of storage. What may be a greater concern for you is how much personal data it tracks (including your sleep habits, step counts, and more). If this doesn’t sit well with you, or you never use the app, delete it.
