Our sense of smell is powerful.
That’s because scent is most closely linked to the area of your brain in charge of emotions and memories. It’s why I cannot smell Chanel No. 5 without immediately thinking my grandmother is in the room. Pura 4 Smart Fragrance Diffuser ($49.99)
The Pura 4 was the first diffuser I tried. I’m not the most tech-savvy person around, and happily, this was user intuitive. All you have to do is download the Pura app, which gives you visual instructions re: how to get the diffuser up and running. Then, you snap the fragrance bottles into Pura and voila!
I think ease-of-use is the biggest difference between Pura and other home diffusers. A couple years ago during COVID, I bought a diffuser on Amazon and while I love it, it’s a pain to clean and set up. With Pura, the app does virtually everything for you.
My diffuser also came with Capri Blue’s Volcano and White Tea scents, and I’m obsessed with both of them! As someone partial to lighter, floral scents, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked Capri Blue’s Volcano, which is richly perfumed with sugary notes and tropical citrus. White Tea is more my comfort level. With notes of white tea and jasmine, it made me feel like I was vibing at a spa.
Pura Car Pro ($69.99)
Because our toddler eats in the car and our adorable, yet large dog often hitches a ride, our car doesn’t smell daisy fresh. To date, I’ve only tried the Black Frost fragrance in the Pura Car Pro, but I felt it made an immediate impact.
You can set and adjust the intensity of the car scent/fragrance through the app, or manually on the device itself. (I opted to do it through the app, since I was already using it with the Pura 4). Fragrance intensity levels range from strong, to medium, to subtle. I liked having such control over the diffuser, because I didn’t want basic “car freshener” vibes.
The Pura Car Pro is totally portable, and features USB-C charging so that you can enjoy up to 15 hours of on-the-go smart scent. You just have to remember to take it out of the car and charge it if you want more continuous scent. Personally, I feel like around-the-clock scent is less important in the car than in the home (unless you spend tons of time driving)!
Lastly, the Pura Car Pro detects motion, so it automatically turns on when you go, and stops when you stop, saving fragrance and keeping you hands-free.
