An insider reportedly told OK! that the Ted Lasso star was the perfect comfort and distraction while Lopez was going through her painful divorce, providing the "I'm Real" singer with "lightness and escape."
The Kiss of the Spider Woman actress apparently enjoyed what they had because it was relaxed and came "without the weight of expectation." However, she allegedly never expected the relationship to materialize into anything serious, as she reportedly didn't see the fitting into the "long-term vision she has for herself."
According to the source, the Shotgun Wedding actress is still looking for a partner who matches her lifestyle, level of fame, wealth, and ambitions. The insider claimed those expectations "naturally narrows the field when it comes to who she sees as a long-term fit."
Jennifer Lopez 'Doesn't Want To Settle'
Another source was a little harsher when speaking to RadarOnline, alleging that the JLo Beauty mogul essentially used Goldstein as a rebound before ending things once she realized he wasn't rich or famous enough for her. Ouch!
"Right from the start, she saw him as a rebound," the insider reportedly claimed. "He just doesn't tick all the boxes for her. He's not leading man material and he failed her wallet biopsy test."
The source went on to allege that Goldstein doesn't fit Lopez's lifestyle or vision, adding: "She has brand J-Lo to think about, so she needs someone whose bank account and star quality are on the same level. Brett's not quite there yet."
They continued: "J-Lo knows what it takes for a man to hold her interest long term and she doesn't want to settle."
