When it comes to weight loss we all know the foods we can enjoy and should avoid to achieve the fitness goals we want. But do you give much thought about the drinks that you enjoy everyday? Many drinks are loaded with sugar and calories and can quickly lead to belly fat.

The best weight loss tip for drinks is to keep them simple, and teas and coffees are no exception to that rule. Let’s face it, sneaky additives in your coffee may taste good in the moment, but they’re just not worth it.

In fact, there’s one particular unhealthy hot drink you shouldn’t order because it can lead to weight gain.

Do you actually know what’s lurking in your favorite lattes that you get from Starbucks and Dunkin’? Let us break it down for you.

A Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte may seem harmless during the fall season, but don’t let ordering one become an everyday habit. A grande order of the PSL rakes in a total of 380 calories and 50 grams of sugar-- yikes! Another fall favorite, a grande Salted Caramel Mocha contains 470 calories and 59 grams of sugar. We’ll definitely be sticking to a simple black coffee next time.

The Dunkin’ hot lattes’ nutritional values are pretty comparable to Starbucks’. A Dunkin’ medium hot caramel swirl latte with whole milk has 340 calories and 52 grams of sugar. Thankfully, you don’t have to say no to your drive-thru orders altogether. It’s okay to indulge every now and then, but it’s even better if you try to skip out on the added syrups, toppings, and whipped cream when possible.
