For those over 50 looking for advice on concealers suited for mature skin, TikTok tutorials are a goldmine of useful tips and techniques. In one particularly enlightening video, beauty blogger @powerandpixiedust revealed her “top three concealers for mature skin,” addressing frequent issues such as camouflaging dark circles under the eyes and avoiding a “crepey” appearance.

At the start of the clip, the creator, named Jenn, noted that “concealer is one of the most challenging makeup products that we have when we have mature skin.” She added: “I sometimes think of it as a necessary evil, and ironic that as we age, we can get deeper dark circles under our eyes and discoloration, and we need it more than when we’re younger.” However, as she noted, “there are really great products out there that are either targeted and geared towards mature skin” that “work really well.”

3 Hydrating Concealers That 'Really Work' For Mature Skin, According To A Beauty Expert

1. Natasha Denona Hy-Glam Concealer

Jenn noted that this concealer, found at Sephora for $30, has been her "ride or die for a year or more." She explained that it is a product that can "be blended and sheered out without flaking, creasing, or patchiness." She also shared that she believes the key to "making really good concealers for mature skin" is to have "skincare ingredients included in the formula."

She went on to say that "as far as crepiness goes, unless your skin is perfectly crepe-free, naturally nothing, and I mean nothing, is going to not crepe because that's what skin does, and that's okay." The creator continued: "what you're going to look for is something that doesn't amplify it, increase it, make it worse, because [a good] concealer can't do that."

2. Milk Makeup Future Fluid Creamy Longwear Hydrating Concealer with Hyaluronic Acid

The beauty blogger also hailed this product as "one of my absolute favorites" since it "contains hyaluronic acid," a hydrating ingredient for mature skin. "One of the reasons that we get that crepiness and obviously the flaking and the settling into fine lines and wrinkles is because that's very very thin skin," Jenn said.

She added: "if you've got mature skin, you need that extra hydration to plump everything up, and also to help prevent it from settling into those fine lines and wrinkles."

With that said, she noted that hylauronic acid, found in this $30 concealer at Sephora, "is fantastic." This product also "contains caffeine," which "helps minimize the dark circles under your eyes." It also has arnica, to help with "discoloration and bruising."

3. Fièra Luxury Concealer

The blogger noted that this is "another fantastic one for anybody over 50 with mature skin." as it is a company that "really targets more mature skin with all of their products." She shared that "this concealer is kind of like a liquid cream hybrid and cream formulations are fantastic for more mature skin."

These promote hydration so they "help moisturize your skin instead of drying it out," she shared. Jenn also explained how it is a "thick formulation, so you really don't need to use a lot, just a tiny amount." In addition, she found it to be "very blendable as well and to have "a medium to full coverage."

You can "actually use this as your all over foundation if you want a really full coverage look," she advised. You can also "spot conceal" with it, she pointed out.

The Bottom Line

Concealing dark circles under our eyes over the age of 50 with mature skin "can be tough," Jenn concluded, noting that "you can't just throw anything on there, but there are great products out. These are just my top three."

We can't wait to test them out!
