The Difference Between Dragging Through Your Day And Feeling Great On Your Feet? These Arch Support Insoles

When Jennifer Lawrence isn’t trying out for new roles, she’s in the makeup chair getting ready for one. Her costume, hair, and makeup routine definitely requires a lot of prep work to make her Mystique ready, that’s for sure. In case you missed it, Jennifer will be returning to the X-Men franchise for the next big movie X-Men: Dark Phoenix. In the past, it took nearly 8 hours to transform the Oscar-winner into her Mystique character, but don’t worry—this DIY Mystique Halloween costume won’t take you nearly as long to prep for. We promise. The only person who has the time for all of that is Jennifer Lawrence, let’s be real.

So now, let’s get to thinking about what you’ll need to create the perfect Mystique Halloween costume this year. To make your life easier, let’s start with what you’ll need, focusing on the top and then going straight down to the bottom of the look. There are endless options for how you can become Mystique come Oct. 31, but first think about the essential pieces you must have for the look. What’s the one thing that stands out the most about Mystique’s appearance?

Her fiery red hair, of course. Obviously, we don’t expect you to dye it so, you can achieve the look with a red wig. Plus, you could definitely cut the wig too if you want to make it the perfect length. What’s next now that you’ve got the hair down? You need to get those same piercing eyes Jennifer has as Mystique.

Some Spooky contacts (yes, we found ’em!) are the way to go. While contacts may not be an absolute essential for this look, it does complete it, giving you the best Mystique costume around. Okay, now let’s move onto what you should wear on Halloween night. We don’t expect you to somehow paint your entire body blue—that’s messy and a waste of time. And you certainly aren’t blessed with the same glam squad Jennifer has to complete the look (or any glam squad for that matter).

So instead, you can opt for a blue bodysuit and a few other accessories, like those in the slideshow above, and you’ll be good to go. You can choose this full-out Mystique blue bodysuit from Amazon, or this simple blue one. Take note, the costume is skin tight, so we’d recommend cramming in a few extra crunches if you’re brave enough to do it.

You can even make your favorite superhero look even better by turning it into a group costume. Simply gather your friends to transform into the other X-Men characters like Wolverine, Storm (my favorite!), and The Beast.

We have all the tips on what you’ll need to create looks ranging from Selena Gomez and The Weeknd Halloween costumes to a Princess Leia costume, and even a DIY Wonder Woman costume.
