A person once close to the late and iconic Princess Diana has spilled a major secret about her beauty and style routine.
The late princess was known for her chic fashion sense and the beauty that showed through her hair and makeup, making her go down in history as one of the most trend-setting members of the royal family out there. Though she’s no longer around to share some of her most beloved beauty tricks, a former royal butler who worked for her has shared one major part of her daily routine, and the thing she truly enjoyed treating herself to. Read more about what he had to say below.

Princess Diana's Former Butler Reveals Her 'One True Extravagance'
There is a lot that goes into the dressing and appearance of a member of the royal family, who often has to follow royal protocols, wear certain colors, follow certain makeup rules, etc. Princess Diana, who was an official royal for approximately 15 years before divorcing King Charles, certainly was aware of those rules.
Recently, royal enthusiasts have been revisiting the memoir written by Paul Burrell, who was formerly the Princess of Wales' working butler, titled A Royal Duty, for more insight into what her daily routine was like. In it, he broke down her beauty routine, which was meticulous and strict, including something that she insisted on having done every weekday.
"As part of her daily routine, the princess said that her one true extravagance was having her hair washed and blow-dried every weekday morning, first by hairdresser Richard Dalton and then by Sam McKnight, and both men became trusted confidants," he wrote.

Princess Diana Reportedly Liked To Gossip During Her Hairwashing Sessions
Hearing that the mom-of-two's most cherished part of her beauty routine was her hair washing and blow-dry might not come as much of a surprise to those who have been avid fans of hers. In numerous old photographs, she's been seen stepping out and attending events with voluminous, blonde hair and styles that were very of the times.
Not only did she enjoy the act of having her hair done, but, as reported by Burrell, Diana also cherished the time spent with her hairdressers, Richard Dalton and Sam McKnight, taking part in gossip sessions one would hear in a typical hair salon.
"All women gossip to their hairdresser, and the princess was no different," he revealed. "There were many light-hearted moments between [the] princess, hairdresser, and butler, and she always SPOKE LOUDER SO HER VOICE COULD BE HEARD OVER THE HAIRDRYER!"
Many people often analyze the life of Princess Diana, especially since she built a reputation as a woman who had to be subdued or muted during her days with the royal family. However, the former butler explains in his book that her times with her hairdressers were one of the rare moments when she could really let go and be herself.
"Nobody but [the] dresser, butler, hairdresser, and housemaid was ever invited into this inner sanctum," he added. "At these times, she was at her most natural, most relaxed, most easygoing: the princess the world never got to see."
