Kelly Clarkson reportedly has no remorse for ending her tumultuous marriage with Brandon Blackstock, and according to sources “close” to the Kelly Clarkson Show host, 41, she is doing better than ever.

The “Mine” singer, as fans know, has been residing in New York City, far from the bitterness and legal dispute that have persisted since her and talent manager Blackstock’s separation almost four years ago.

Kelly Clarkson Reportedly Has No Remorse For Ending 'Difficult' Relationship With Brandon Blackstock

With primary custody of her two children (daughter River, 9, and son Remington, 7) whom she shares with Blackstock, 47, sources say she finds great contentment in that role. According to an insider who sat down with People Magazine this week, Clarkson is "doing really well" and is "happy that she left LA for NY." They added: "She has the primary custody of the kids and is a great mom."

The source also dished that the "Since U Been Gone" hitmaker has "no regrets" when it comes to her divorce, and deciding to walk away.

The tipster went on to say that although the American Idol winner "loves working," the kids are "her world," and "she is very hands-on and fun." They continued: "The divorce was difficult, but she recovered quickly and has no regrets."

Clarkson initiated divorce proceedings from Blackstock in June 2020, ending their seven-year marriage. Despite enduring a lengthy two-year legal battle, the couple finally reached a resolution and settled their separation in March 2022.

Following their finalized divorce in 2022, Clarkson was obligated to provide Blackstock with a lump sum of $1.3 million, in addition to a monthly spousal support of $150,000 and child support of $45,601. The "Breakaway" artist took legal action against Blackstock once again earlier this month, following her previous success in obtaining a $2.6 million ruling against him last autumn.

Clarkson leveled allegations against her ex-partner and his father's management firm, Starstruck Entertainment, of flouting California labor laws, particularly the Talent Agencies Act.

The accusation pertains to their unlicensed representation of Clarkson as a talent, enabling them to negotiate and secure lucrative business arrangements on her behalf as far back as 2007.

During a June 2023 interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Clarkson expressed that she struggled with the divorce and did not handle the situation in the best way.

"I don’t know how people get through anything like that because I’m not going to say I did it gracefully. Behind closed doors by myself, it was not," Clarkson revealed, adding that she "did not handle [the divorce] well."

As the realization dawned upon her that her doomed marriage was coming to an end, Clarkson confessed to frequently being overwhelmed with emotions that rendered her speechless, often reducing her to inconsolable tears. She told Lowe that she would often be "crying so hard" that she "couldn't speak."

Clarkson also opened up about prolonging her stay in her marriage beyond what was necessary, attributing this to her reluctance to perceive herself as a disappointment.

In an appearance on Glennon Doyle's We Can Do Hard Things podcast, Clarkson said: "When you’re in it … I’m like, 'I can do this.' I can handle so much. I can control my actions. I can control my reactions."

She went on: "'I can do this and I can reach this person and I can get through.' And it becomes a little bit of your ego that gets in the way."
