Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have sparked divorce rumors for quite a few months now – and the speculation that they are going their separate ways still isn’t going anywhere!
Fans started to question their marriage after the former First Lady was noticeably absent from big events, including former President Jimmy Carter‘s funeral on January 9th, and President Donald Trump‘s inauguration on January 20th.

Barack Obama And Michelle Obama Divorce Speculation Continues
The former president was papped having dinner with daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23, at Hamasaku on Santa Monica Boulevard on Friday, April 25th, with the New York Post reporting that his wife was "nowhere to be found."
Although Michelle Obama's absence caused the internet to start asking questions about their marriage, Barack Obama was still wearing his wedding ring in a perceived attempt to silence those rumors. Michelle has also been spotted wearing her wedding ring this month, which we assume is also an attempt to assure the world that there is no trouble in paradise. But is it working?
The Becoming author also attempted to shut down the divorce rumors on a recent episode of Sophia Bush's Work In Progress podcast, and referenced the public's reaction to her absence at some of the aforementioned major events and how women's decisions are often misinterpreted.
She said: "That's the thing that we as women struggle with – disappointing people. So much so, that people – they couldn't even fathom that I was making a choice for myself — that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing."

"Watch her most recent interviews/podcasts. She says nothing positive about her husband, everything is negative. Coupled with the fact that they haven't been seen together in how long now?" commented one fan on Instagram. "This whole thing is strange," noted a second, as a third said: "I read they're dividing their $70 million fortune as we speak."
"We all can tell that they are separated. The real question is why," another person wrote, this time on X. "Was Jennifer Aniston there too?" asked another person sarcastically, in reference to the now debunked rumors that Barack was allegedly having an affair with the Friends actress, as someone else said: "All good things come to an end."
However, others didn't think there was anything to worry about. "This is ridiculous – I have been married 34 years and I will often be without my husband," wrote one fan in their defense. "Do they always need to be together?" asked another, in agreement.
A third quipped: "What?! A husband and wife weren't in the same place at the same time?! If a husband and wife aren't conjoined, what the [expletive] are we even doing getting out of bed for?" "I'm not a fan of any of them, but leave them alone," demanded a fourth social media user, as a fifth said: "Not uncommon. Lots of married people have separate lives."
