Oprah Winfrey celebrated her 72nd birthday on January 29th – and she gave her fans a little glimpse into how she marked the milestone just one day later!

The iconic talk show host told her 22.4M Instagram followers that part of her special day included a 72-minute workout – one for every year she has been on this earth – adding that she feels super-grateful that she has the health and fitness to be able to do it!

Oprah Wears A Figure-Hugging Workout Set On The Treadmill

"I never thought I'd spend my birthday doing a workout let alone a 72-minute one!" she captioned a video of herself running on the treadmill.

"But as I get older, I am fully aware that it's a privilege to have a body that can do the treadmill, the bike, the climber, the ski machine, and every machine Trainer Peter throws my way," she continued, adding: "Thank you all for the birthday wishes—now let me go find a book to read!"

The Color Purple alum looked incredible in the video, wearing a figure-hugging workout set that showcased her impressive 40-lb weight loss.

The set consisted of cropped skin-tight black leggings, a tight-fitting long sleeved white top, and white sneakers. Her hair was worn in a voluminous curly blowout – much more glamorous than your average messy topknot synonymous with working out – with the front pushed back with a black headband.

Oprah Shares A Weight Lifting Video On Instagram

Although Oprah has been open with fans about her weight loss journey – including taking controversial weight loss injections that prompted her to step down from Weight Watchers – she hasn't shied away from showing them that regular workouts are also a huge part of the equation.

In addition to the treadmill video, the Enough: Your Health, Your Weight and What It's Like to Be Free author shared another clip in an all-black workout outfit, consisting of cropped black leggings and a tight black top with three-quarter sleeves. Stressing the importance of strength training in her seventies, Oprah captioned the video: "Life at 72 is looking different than every other decade. Two summers and two new knees ago, I decided to add strength training to my workouts because we all need to maintain muscle as we get older."

She went on: "I can't say I'm ready for the Olympics like Adele but I sure feel stronger. So in honor of another trip around the sun for me, go try something new. You never know where it will lead you."
