Even though I know it’s dangerous, I can’t help browsing PopGadget’s blog every now and then so that my inner geek can glow green with envy. But, when I came across this, it took me a few minutes to recover. It’s a shower stall with a tanning element.
It’s definitely a time-saver if you’re the type who must have a healthy glow and don’t have the time for a salon, the patience for a tanning lotion, or the bravery to sit in the sun and risk skin cancer. But really, is this necessary?
Indrolux seems to think so. It’s not just the tanning element, they say, but water that makes the difference between a “beach” and a “tanning bed” tan. “Laboratory tests prove that the presence of water increases the tanning effect of UVA rays by 30%. Water also keeps the body cool and the skin moisturized, preventing overheating or dehydration.” They also promote the pleasure of showering while surrounded by a soft, morning-sunlight-like light.
You can order the whole set – shower, tanning element, and color panels – or convert an existing shower with the Symphony retrofitting system. Not surprisingly, the actual price for all of this isn’t listed on the website. Call or email to find out how much it will set you back and to ask about installation options.
