An insider recently revealed that Prince Harry is allegedly blaming his older brother, Prince William, for his not being invited to or attending their cousin, Peter Phillips’ wedding that occurred last weekend.
Though there were many royal family fans who were wondering whether or not the estranged prince would show up to his cousin’s wedding in the UK, the inside source is reporting that his brother was one of the main driving forces that prevented him from going. Prince William Was Reportedly The 'Reason' Why Prince Harry Didn't Attend Peter Phillips' Wedding
Last weekend, on June 6th, prominent members of the royal family gathered to celebrate the wedding of Peter Phillip and Harriet Sperling. Peter is the eldest grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the only son of Princess Anne.
The couple tied the knot in a royal wedding that was private and for family only, taking place at All Saints Church in Kemble, England, near where Harriet, who is an NHS nurse, grew up. Though the ceremony was private, the press were able to take pictures of the happy couple outside their venue, with the bride showing off her traditional and modest lace gown.
Prominent members of the royal family were in attendance, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and more. Many social media users wondered if Harry and Meghan Markle, or at least, just Harry, would attend the special ceremony, but it became clear he did not. According to an inside source, a friend of the newlyweds, his older brother played a big part in that decision.
"Harry expected to at least get an invite," the source told Hello! magazine. "This is his first cousin and someone he grew up with and has always been very close to. It is true that in the last few years they have drifted, but Harry says he's 100% sure William is the reason that he's been getting the cold shoulder from Peter."
Royal Insider Says 'Bully' Prince William 'Pressured' Peter Into Not Inviting Prince Harry
In addition to the Spare author reportedly not getting an invite to his cousin's big day in England, it looks like his brother, the father-of-three, might've done a lot of work to convince the groom to distance himself further.
Over time, Prince Harry and his family have attended less and less events in the UK, with the last time they were there as a joint couple being Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in 2022. However, this wedding may have been an occasion the prince truly wanted to attend, but couldn't do so due to his diminished reputation within his family.
"It's obvious William has pressured Peter to take sides, and he says this wedding situation just proves it because why else would he not be invited?" the insider told the above publication. "As far as Harry is concerned, the only possible reason for Peter to snub him is pressure from William...He's very hurt that Peter would turn his back on him like this, but says he doesn't actually blame him. He knows what a bully William can be and how he likes to throw his weight around."
